  • Ready for the biggest BBQ contest of the year? Register your team to join us on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Here is your need-to-know information:

    TEAM SETUP BEGINS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 at 5PM.

    COMPETITION INFORMATION
    • Compete in any combination of 4 categories including ribs, chicken, pulled pork and brisket.
    • Registration fee of $60 per category.
    • You must compete in all 4 categories to be eligible for overall grand champion.
    • There is a mandatory meeting for head cooks during setup on Friday, September 15.
    • Each team will be required to fill out a W9 form before competition in the event of any winnings. This will be completed at or before the mandatory head cooks meeting on Friday, September 15.
    • There is no additional fee for electricity. It is available on a limited basis. If you have your own generator, use of is is encouraged.
    Registration & payment due by Friday, September 1.


    RULE REVISION – PLEASE NOTE:

    As of August 15, 2017 a revised copy of the rules have been posted. Please see this new document for full information (changes to section 9 and section 15 only). To recap the changes:

    Under Section 9, People’s Choice sampling will now begin at 2pm. Each team will be provided with up to one volunteer by ND BBQ Championship, and the team or this volunteer will serve the People’s Choice sample directly from each teams site. This will help encourage community interaction with our great teams and help to grow the sport of BBQ.

    Under Section 15, changes have been made to turn-in order and times. First turn-in will be chicken at 11:30am, followed by ribs at 12:15pm, pork at 1:00pm and brisket at 1:45pm. People’s Choice sampling will following at 2:00pm and awards ceremony will be held at 3:30pm.

    PAYMENT INFO
    Registration fee is $60 per category you choose to compete in (maximum $240 category registration). Registration may only be paid by cash, check, cashiers check or money order. Please make checks out to Scheels Home & Hardware. You may drop off payment at the Customer Service Counter located inside Scheels Home & Hardware OR mail your payment to Scheels Home & Hardware with ATTENTION: ND BBQ CHAMPIONSHIP at 3202 13th Avenue South, Fargo, ND 58103.

     

    STANDARD BOOTH SIZE
    Standard booth space is 15′ x 20′. If you have additional requirements, please note that in the registration below. There is no additional fee for extra booth space.

     

    COMPETITION T-SHIRT
    Each team will receive ONE free SCHEELS ND BBQ t-shirt. If you would like additional shirts for your team members, they are available for purchase for $10/each. In order to ensure we have your sizes and quantities, you MUST include this information with your registration. Please include the fee for each additional shirt in your registration payment.
